Best Home Court Advantage in College Basketball
created by wolfrp4
Cameron Indoor
Built in 1940. Capacity of nearly 12,000 and home of the Cameron Crazies. Duke has a 722-148 all-time record while playing in Cameron.
Rupp Arena
It is better when Ashley Judd is in the house. On top of the Ashley Judd factor Rupp can seat nearly 24,000 fans for a basketball game. Built in 1976 Kentucky has a record of 384-46 in Rupp Arena. They also have led the nation in attendance 11 out of the last 12 seasons.
Allen Field House
Built in 1955 with a capacity of just over 17,000. Between 1994 and 1998 the Jayhawks won 62 consecutive home games.
Mackey Arena
Keady Court Mackey Arena. Can seat 14,000 fans for Boilermaker basketball games and was constructed in 1967. It is one of the loudest basketball stadiums in the country due to the roof being made out of aluminum.
Assembly Hall
The 16,000 seat arena is home to the Fighting Illini basketball team and was opened in 1963. It was supposedly at the time the first edge supported dome in the world...yea, whatever that means.
Dean Smith Center
The Dean Smith Center opened in 1986 and has already been expanded twice in its 22 years of existence. Capacity today is just over 21,000. UNC has a 220-47 record all-time at the Dean Smith Center. However it has been called a "laidback" crowd as many of the supporters nearest the court are boosters and not students. Florida State guard Sam Cassell went as far to call it a "wine and cheese" crowd.
Memorial Gym
Home of Vanderbilt Basketball. Opened in 1952 and now has a capacity of just over 14,000. The distinguishing feature is that team benches are located at the ends of the court. Which makes it impossible for a coach to communicate with his team for half of the game.
University of Dayton Arena
It is home to the University of Dayton Flyers basketball teams, and has hosted 72 games in the NCAA men's basketball tournament over its history, the fourth most prolific venue in NCAA history and the second most prolific among active venues.

I don't think there is any doubt that it is Cameron Indoor stadium. After that there are a lot of teams that can fight it out for number 2

Memorial Gym for Vanderbilt is up there. Only place in the country where the fron few rows are below the court and the benches are behind the basket. It messes with other teams.

UD's arena? Are we being serious here? How can you have a homecourt advantage when your team looses as much as UD does at home?
