Biggest Lying Scoundrels in Baseball History

Pete Rose
The All-Time Hit King, spent 15 years denying his involvement in betting on baseball. Rose finally came clean in 2004 saying that he did indeed bet on the Reds while serving as manager of the team, but he only bet on Cincinnati to win.
Barry Bonds
Increasing head size. Athletically peaked in his 40s.
Sammy Sosa
The slugger told Congress he didn't take steroids. And in an even bigger lie, that he no speaka da English.
Rafael Palmerio
Palmerio is possibly the biggest name to actually test positive. After going on record that he had never used steroids, the Viagra pitchman tested positive. In a true show of class, and rather than fessing up, Raffy blamed it on teammate Miguel Tejada.
Albert Belle
The all around asshole denied speculation he was corking his bats, and was then promptly caught corking his bats.
Jeff Kent
Jeff Kent injured himself while motorcycle riding, which was in violation of his contract, and told the Giants he broke his wrist washing his car.
Orlando Hernandez
Came to the majors claiming to be 28, and it was later discovered that El Duke was 32 at the time.
Bud Selig
In 1995, Bud was quoted as saying about 'roids, "If baseball has a problem, I must say candidly that we were not aware of it." But wait, years he still wasn't aware of it, saying, "I never even heard about it. I ran a team and nobody was closer to their players and I never heard any comment from them. It wasn't until 1998 or '99 that I heard the discussion." But Bud, you discussed it in 1995! Roger Clemens
The primary casualty of the Mitchell Report. Maybe the greatest to ever take the mound is seeing his reputation irreparably tarnished. It's pure tabloid stuff: Brian McNamee allegedly stored steroid needles and bloody gauze pads in beer cans for a decade. The Rocket implicated his own wife as an HGH user in prepping for her SI Swimsuit Edition shot.
Chicago Black Sox
In what was the biggest black eye on the game until Rose, and more recently, the steroid era, they threw the World Series in 1919.
