Most Knock Down Drag Out Athlete Divorces

Kirby Puckett and Tonya Puckett
In 2002, Kirby ended his 16-year marriage to Tonya and She was granted the family's $1.3 million home in suburban Minneapolis, as well as custody of their two children. Kirby agreed to pay $4,000 a month in child support in addition to $6,000 a year for camps and sports activities.
Chuck Finley and Tawny Kitaen
In 2002, Tawny Kitaen physically abused husband and big league baseball pitcher Chuck Finley. Kitaen reportedly kicked Finley repeatedly while wearing high-heeled boots, visibly wounding the Cy Young winner. Charges were dismissed in exchange for Kitaen`s promise to undergo anger management and conflict resolution counseling. Finley filed for divorce three days later and stopped giving her money. Kitaen filed a $12 million lawsuit, claiming that Finley had broken a promise to financially support her.
Jeff Gordon vs. Brooke Gordon: Cost: $15.3 million
In March of 2002 after 7 years of marriage Jeff and Brook Gordon filed for divorce, citing marital discord. Brooke Gordon opted out of alimony and was guaranteed $15.3 million from the sale of two properties, including their 23,095-square-foot oceanfront home in Highland Beach. Florida laws require that any assets earned during a marriage must be split. In 2001 it was estimated that Jeff Gordon was worth about $48.8 million and his earning that same year were at more than $18 million. Brooke Gordon argued that her husband was worth five times as much as he claimed.

Michael Jordan and Juanita Jordan: estimated worth $168 million
In December of 2006 Michael Jordan and his wife, Juanita, officially filed for divorce claiming a mutual decision in ending their 17 year marriage. Juanita first filed for divorce in January of 2002 but withdrew her petition a month later claiming that they were attempting a work out the matter. They decided that they would share custody of their three children, Jeffrey, 18, Marcus, 16, and Jasmine, 14. It is estimated that Jordan's net worth is around $400 million and that Juanita would be entitled to around $168 million of that revenue. Making this one of the most expensive divorces in the history of divorces.
Alex Rodriguez and Cynthia Rodriguez
A-Rod and his wife of 6 years have been living separately, just three months after the birth of their second daughter. The couple was married in 2002 but recent reports have surfaced that Alex Rodriguez's has been spending some alone time with pop singer Madonna while wife C-Rod has been spending her time in Paris with Rocker Lenny Kravitz. The $275 million dollar All-Star is estimated to make 21 million dollars this year. A-Rod might as well go on and give C-Rod half.
